I've never tried catnip with my cats. This looks like fun.

I've never owned a cat...so forgive my stupidity...but what is catnip? and why give it to a cat?

According to Wikipedia

Nepeta is a genus of about 250 species of flowering plants in the family Lamiaceae. The members of this group are known as catnip or catmint because of their famed effect on cats—nepeta pleasantly stimulates cats' pheromonic receptors, typically resulting in the animal temporarily exhibiting behaviors indicative of being in an induced, euphorically giddy sort of state.

Travis. As an equal opportunity lover of dogs and cats-- I would highly recommend a kitten friend for Sadie.

My dog Moon went for 15 plus years of her life snarling at every cat she saw on the street. When AFTER 15 YEARS I was given a kitten-- Moon FELL IN LOVE WITH IT. They became best friends and would sleep together.

Dogs and cats, contrary to popular belief, do manage to work things out and at least tolerate one another. And cats are ENDLESSLY fascinating beings.

But I totally understand that some people just aren't *into* cats. Maybe you're in that category.

I would have in the past put myself firmly in the dog peron camp (as evidenced by my earlier post) but....I'm beginning to like the weird things.

I don't recommend three, sorry Eric, too much poo and hair but I am learning appreciate catness:)

I love this video, and your cat is so cute. She actually looks like mine, with a different face. I adopted mine from an animal shelter and she has the exact coloring and fur lenth as a Himalayan. She might be half or something.
